Out With The Old

I've been so busy for the past couple of months that I just realized that I never did a post about my Christmas decor.

So before I take it all down
I thought I would share.

I usually have a tree in the
living room and dining room.
Small trees in every other room
and everything that doesn't
move gets decorated.

Not this year! I was a bit of
a slacker!
Before now I would have driven
myself crazy trying to get
everything done and
make every little detail perfect.

This year I finally came to the
realization that I can't
do it all. I know... hard to
believe, huh! :)

Christmas has came and gone
way too quickly...
Many old traditions have
ended...
New traditions have began...

But the most important thing
will never change, and
that is that GOD loved us so
much that HE sent HIS
only SON to earth
so that you and I could have
forgiveness of our sins.
The most precious gift ever!
JESUS!

Blessings,

Nina

Baby It's Cold Outside

Not really! Here in Georgia we are having a gorgeous week with lows in the upper 50's and highs in the upper 60's! :)

This is the theme for the window
display that I did for a local
shoppe, Maggie Mae's Tea Room.

Maggie Mae's is located inside
The 1902 Stock Exchange.
They serve a fabulous lunch.
In fact it's my favorite!

The 1902 Stock Exchange also
offers wonderful shopping.
With antiques and uniques,
a great little book store and
a dinner theater.

I feel very honored to be among
the very talented ladies
who decorate the windows of
this exquisite shoppe.

I will be sharing a glimpse at
the other windows soon!

If you're ever in North West Georgia
make a point to stop in Adairsville
and enjoy shopping at
The 1902 Stock Exchange
and lunch at
Maggie Mae's Tea Room!

Handmade Velvet Pumpkins and Blue Hydrangeas

I fell in love with velvet pumpkins the very first time I ever saw them.

They were these little golden ones
with the plastic stems,
that are displayed on the mantle.

I found these years ago and
I have always wanted
a few more, in
different colors of course!

So a friend of mine, my
youngest daughter and I
started making them.

They were so beautiful
that we couldn't stop!

We made all colors and sizes!
(Ours have real pumpkin stems!)

I had to keep several of
my favorites,
and my friend was sweet
enough to share a few
that I just had to have to
go with the blue Hydrangeas
another dear friend gave me!

So for my Autumn tablescape
I used the two together and
it is quite beautiful!

I wanted to share before I put
everything away and start
decorating for Christmas.

I hope you all enjoyed them
as much as I have!

Nina

Autumn Farmhouse Porch

It's a beautiful Autumn day here in Georgia.  The sun is shining, but it's cold and windy.

I thought I had better share
my fall decorations before it's too late.

Thursday Is Thanksgiving
and after that we all
will be moving full force
into Christmas!

I love Christmas,
but I feel as though
Thanksgiving is rushed
by too quickly.

I think Fall gets shorter and
shorter every year.

There isn't near enough time
to enjoy the beautiful leaves,
or bonfires,
...or football! :)

I did keep deocorating
to a minimal this season.
And used what I already had,
except for the two
fresh pumpkins.

I'm pleased with how everything turned out.
And it does look different from
last year.

I will try to post the Inside
decorations before
the weekend.

And share what me and my
youngest daughter
have been into making.

Until then I wish you

Blessings,

Nina

Homemade Zuppa Tuscana

I love this time of year, the leafs change to such beautiful shades of yellow, gold, orange,          and brown; it's time for bonfires, boots, sweaters and scarves... and soups and stews.

                  I love soups and stews!

One of my favorite soups is Zuppa Tuscana.

It is so creamy, full of fresh ingredients and wonderful flavor.

I have yet to find anyone who doesn't love it. So, it is a real crowd pleaser.

I have promised serveral family members and friends that I would share the recipe that I use.

I found it on Pinterest, but I don't know who to give credit to.

I have found that it is best to double the recipe so that you can share or have leftovers for lunch the next day.

I hope you all enjoy!

Blessings,

Nina
